Our organization began in 1952 as the Seattle Veterinary Medical Association. As membership needs expanded over the years, we grew into the Seattle-King County Veterinary Medical Association. In 2011, we expanded again to offer membership beyond the King County borders as the Puget Sound Veterinary Medical Association (PSVMA).
Evolving With Our Profession
Our profession has changed over the years, and so has our organization. Our mission is to continually evolve our organization in response to changes in our profession and culture. Today, PSVMA serves our evolving community of veterinarians and paraprofessionals by:
- Providing high quality continuing education,
- Promoting a cohesive veterinary community, and
- Promoting a positive image of the profession to the general public.
We achieve these goals through lectures, conferences, community service events, social gatherings, and modern technology.
